Authoritarian Populism and the Exceptional Measures in the Era of Uncertainty (NPSA 10-12 November, 2022)

I am attending at the Northeastern Political Science Association (NPSA) 54th Annual Meeting November 10-12, 2022 Boston, Massachusetts. The program is available form here. My lecture is based on my postdoc research and its title is Authoritarian Populism and the Exceptional Measures in the Era of Uncertainty. The state of exception has been investigated here in the historical framework of my latest book Hungary in State of Exception. Authoritarian Neoliberalism from the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy to the COVID-19 Crisis. I put an emphasis on the neoliberal origins of exceptional governance in Hungary and the threats caused by authoritarian populist excpetional measures.
